Neil Patrick Harris is a Tony and Emmy award-winning stage and screen performer, famous for his roles as Barney Stinson in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother and as the iconic and beloved Doogie Howser, M.D.  This year, he won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of the titular role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. He thrilled a nation starring in Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.  He's been in numerous movies, hosted both the Tony and the Emmy Awards multiple times, performed in several Broadway shows, and enjoys Twitter (follow him at @actuallyNPH). Oh, and he is an accomplished amateur magician on the side. And the father of twins. Now he's written a book!

Bookshop Santa Cruz is thrilled to kick off our Fall offsite events lineup with the hilarious, charismatic, and mega-talented Neil Patrick Harris! NPH will join us for a conversation--with his husband David Burtka!--about his new book, Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography. Bookshop’s event will be his only Bay Area tour appearance! Signed copies of this side-splitting autobiography are exclusive to attendees of Mr. Harris's live book tour events - only 9 in the country! We hope you'll join us for a very entertaining evening!

 

Seating is Reserved: $31.50 includes one copy of the signed* book and one free ticket to the event.  Once the ticket is purchased, use your ticket to claim your book at the Civic on the night of the event.  Lost tickets will not be replaced or refunded and the book cannot be replaced.

 

*UPDATED 10/16/14:  After the conversation portion of the event, Neil Patrick Harris will briefly greet guests in a receiving line; guests will be called to enter the line according to seating section. Due to time restrictions, all books are pre-signed. No additional personalizations to the book or posed photographs with Mr. Harris will be possible. Ticket-holders can claim a signed copy of the book at the Bookshop Santa Cruz Information Desk (available now), or claim the book at the Civic Auditorium on the night of the event.  You must bring your ticket with perforated book voucher stub attached to claim the signed book.  Note that Mr. Harris is pre-signing a special page inside the book, page 175, not on the title page —an exclusive perk to attending an NPH book event. When you see your book, you’ll get why!
