Making the scene in Paris, the dashing young liar Dorante spins a hilarious web of tall tales. Two sweet ladies are drawn in, but Dorante's father wants to him marry to the wrong one. Or so he thinks. As Dorante's desire escalates, so too do his deceptions, and as his troubles grow, it becomes apparent that only the truth can win a happy ending for all. The question is: can The Liar tell the truth? The laughs flow freely and joyously in David Ives's verbal sleight-of-hand adaptation of Corneille's mistaken-identity comedy, which the Wall Street Journal declared “could be the funniest play ever written!”
