The annual “Fringe Show” features Aphra Behn’s The Rover, a 17th century comedy of intrigue, lust, and love. The Rover centers on two virtuous sisters sneaking away during Carnival to find the men of their dreams and instead discover rakish rogues and beguiling bedfellows. Behn’s frank portrayal of women debates the sexual politics of the age through witty banter and wry humor, a perfect showcase for the season’s young and exuberant intern acting company.
NOTE: The particular humor of the play features overt sexual innuendos and sexually- suggestive physical comedy. Parents should be cautious when considering the play for pre- teenagers.
